Proverbs 19:23

The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil

From what I get, if you fear (respect) the Lord then you will be satisfied and not tempted or visited by evil thoughts or desires. Sorry but I don’t understand at this moment what “tendeth to life” means. So that just about sums up what I think about this verse. Kind of makes you want to have fear of the Lord so you don’t think evil things. If you want an example – being mad at people and wanting to hit them. More so “getting even”. I don’t know what verse but the bible does say “render no man evil for evil but render good for evil”. I’m close enough if its not that exact phrase.
