Proverbs 16: 5-6

5 Every one [that is] proud in heart [is] an abomination to the LORD: [though] hand [join] in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD [men] depart from evil.

There is no easy way to describe this verse because it hasn’t quite hit home yet. Slowly reading upon it I find that if you have a pride problem then you are an abomination to God. That He is not happy with you. The prideful join in hands as an abomination and they will not go unpunished. However through mercy and teaching of truth a person’s iniquity is purged. That the fear of God cause men (and women) to separate themselves from evil.

Remember, iniquity was found in satan. God would not stand for it so He cast lucifer out of heaven. The 1/3 of the angels that followed satan in rebellion also got cast from heaven. If God will not stand for it in Heaven with His angels then He definitely won’t stand for it here on earth with humans. Fear of the Lord is more so a rightful respect towards God.
