Proverb 15:1-3

1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

3 The eyes of the LORD [are] in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

This one is a one where we are all guilty or have been guilty at some point in our lives. Even right now I feel guilty and smiling the guilty smile (the one where kids make when they got caught with their hands in the cookie jar after they been told not to get in it). Basically this verse is talking about arguments. Someone says something and if you get mad then you respond with a grievous word. Then the argument starts. Pastor keeps on saying “its not who says the first word that starts the fight, its who responds the wrong way to what was said”. If your calm and speak with soft words then the other person has no leg to stand on and their anger just dissolves. If your wise then you will know what to say in stressful situations (know to use soft words in a fight) but if your a fool then you have nothing good to say. Most of the time you can say things that make you look like an idiot which is what “but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness” means. Random rambles and rants are a perfect example of being foolish (I admit I am because I do them too). Lastly this verse talks about how God sees EVERYTHING and hears EVERYTHING that is said. So when you speak wisely or speak foolishly, God will know.
