Proverb 14:34

Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people

This one is easy. America can be the example in this verse. Back in the beginning of America with George Washington, the founding fathers built this nation on righteousness and on the books of law in the bible. Until recently, we have had leaders that were righteous and God fearing and we have never lost a war and we have been truly blessed. Then we got into the upper 30’s and beginning of 40’s in the presidential count. Since then, look at what has happened to us.

Because of the countless sin in America we have suffered from outrageous amounts of debt, the housing market has dropped, gas keeps getting more expensive, hurricanes wipe out cities, and this year alone we have had a lot of tornadoes and a lot of flooding. Bible says that God holds the wind in His fist. A nation follows their leader. If the leader is sinful and unGodly then the people will be sinful and unGodly. I seriously doubt having liberal leaders is going to help us as a nation. Sin affects our lives, and thats why it is called a reproach. We have lost our righteousness as a nation. Basically we can no longer say “God bless America” without lying. We have lost our blessings through sin.

Study the history of Israel and what happened to them shortly after they crucified Christ. They were destroyed as a nation for over a thousand years. Do we really want to follow in their footsteps?
